Family Show “Searching for Europe's Giants” Combines Documentary with Hide-and-Seek
A new family show in Latvia merges a documentary-based story about bison with an interactive hide-and-seek adventure.

A new family show titled “Searching for Europe's Giants” has been created in Latvia, offering an unusual format that blends a documentary-based narrative with a hide-and-seek experience. The production was developed over the course of a year by scenographers Marta Madara Grantiņa and Ildze Jurkovska.
In the first part, audiences follow the story of how bison returned to Latvia's landscape after many centuries and how people tried to understand what to do with them. This section is grounded in documentary material, giving the show an educational dimension.
In the second part, the show transforms into an adventure as viewers become researchers and explore the surrounding area to find places where the giants are hiding. This interactive approach encourages families to participate actively in the story rather than just watch, letting them discover for themselves where the characters are concealed.
