Horse freed after getting head stuck between trees on Pärnu beach
Rescuers in Pärnu successfully freed a horse on Monday evening after its head became trapped between two trees on Raeküla Beach. The animal was unharmed.
First responders in Pärnu faced an unusual rescue call on Monday evening. Just after 6:30 p.m., the Rescue Board was alerted that a horse had gotten its head and neck stuck between two trees on Raeküla Beach, on the southern outskirts of the town. The horse could not free itself. Upon arrival, rescuers assessed the situation and began the release process. Other horses looked on with apparent interest as their companion was freed. The rescue was completed successfully around 7 p.m., and the animal was unharmed and able to move freely. The Rescue Board warns that forcefully trying to free a horse or other large animal is hazardous and could lead to injury to all parties. If you notice an injured or distressed animal, whether domestic or wild, call the national help line at 1247. Operators speak English and will provide instructions and forward the issue to the relevant authority if needed.
