After a fallow year in 2026, Glastonbury fans can prepare for the ticket scramble for the 2027 edition. The price has risen to £408 including a £5 booking fee, up from £378.50 in 2025, and for the first time exceeds £400.

The usual dash to secure tickets, complete with spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups, will begin at 9am on Sunday 4 October. To encourage more environmentally friendly travel, tickets bundled with coach journeys go on sale earlier, at 6pm on Thursday 1 October.

Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Fontaines DC, Sabrina Carpenter and Fred Again have all been rumoured as potential headliners. Organiser Emily Eavis dismissed speculation that Madonna would play, saying: "No, it's definitely not Madonna." She added that there are three headliners lined up and the line-up is coming together well.

In 2025, the festival was topped by the 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, whose set was described as the weekend's best big show in a five-star Guardian review. Secret sets came from Pulp, Skepta and Haim, while Doechii and Alanis Morissette earned acclaim. Controversy surrounded Kneecap and the act before them, Bob Vylan, who led a chant of "death to the IDF". Then BBC director general Tim Davie said he deeply regretted that such offensive behaviour had appeared on the BBC, prompting an internal investigation.

Michael Eavis, who founded the festival on his Somerset dairy farm in 1970, has turned 90. Speaking to the BBC in October, he said the excitement of the long story has kept him going. He recalled being "at war" with the council, the village, local magistrates and the police before the event became arguably the world's greatest music festival. He insisted the fight was what made it work and that it was certainly worth it.

The 2027 festival will take place from 23 to 27 June. Anyone wishing to buy a ticket must register with the festival by 5pm BST on Friday 25 September. Tickets can be paid in full or with a £100 deposit, with the balance due in the first week of April. Under-13s attend free.
