God of War Laufey Launches on PS5 February 16
Next year's God of War installment starring Kratos' wife Laufey will be released on February 16, announced at San Diego Comic-Con. Players will control Laufey in the afterlife, with a subsequent Kratos-led game confirmed.

The next major installment in the God of War franchise, titled God of War Laufey, has been confirmed for release on PlayStation 5 on February 16 next year. The announcement came during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con and was also shared via PlayStation's social media channels.
This entry shifts the focus from the series' iconic protagonist Kratos to his wife, Laufey, also known as Faye. The story follows Laufey as she ventures through the afterlife of the gods following her death in God of War Ragnarok. Players will experience her combat abilities, which were only hinted at in previous games.
A gameplay sneak peek, released about a month before the announcement, showcased Laufey engaging in aerial combat and using magical powers against new gods and creatures not yet seen in the franchise. While the game is only available for wishlisting at this time, there are more developments on the horizon. Santa Monica Studio also confirmed during Comic-Con that another God of War game led by Kratos is planned after this title, as reported by IGN.
