Gauff cruises past Kostyuk into Cincinnati semifinal
American Coco Gauff defeated Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk in straight sets to reach the Cincinnati semifinals, where she will face Sara Bejlek.

American tennis player Coco Gauff, ranked fourth in the world, delivered a convincing quarterfinal win over Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk, ranked 11th, at the Cincinnati tournament, winning 6:2, 6:2.
The 22-year-old American was superior across nearly every statistical category. Gauff won 78% of points on her first serve compared to Kostyuk's 67%, and 45% on her second serve compared to 21%. Overall, Gauff took 80 points to her opponent's 62, and converted six of eleven break-point chances, while Kostyuk converted two of three. Gauff also had the edge in aces and double faults, hitting one ace with three double faults against Kostyuk's two aces and eight double faults.
Before the match, bookmakers already considered Gauff the favorite, offering odds of 1.69 on her victory. With this win, the head-to-head record between the two players now stands at 4-2 in the American's favor. This marks Gauff's sixth appearance at the Cincinnati tournament, where her best result remains the title she won in 2023.
Other quarterfinal results
In other quarterfinal matches, Jessica Pegula defeated fellow American Amanda Anisimova 6:4, 2:6, 7:6 in a three-set battle. Poland's Iga Swiatek advanced past Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina, who retired while trailing 1:4. Meanwhile, Czech player Sara Bejlek beat American Madison Keys 3:6, 6:4, 7:6 in a three-set contest.
The Cincinnati semifinals will pit Swiatek against Pegula, and Gauff against Bejlek.
