Golden State Warriors Still Unsure Where Kristaps Porziņģis Is or What His Health Issue Is

The Golden State Warriors of the NBA say they do not know where Latvian center Kristaps Porziņģis currently is, what health problem he has, or when he might return to the court. He has not taken part in team activities since the squad went to Hawaii.

The Golden State Warriors, a San Francisco-area club in the NBA, North America's top professional basketball league, lack precise information about the whereabouts, health and return date of their Latvian center Kristaps Porziņģis. Sportacentrs reported this on 12 October, citing journalist Danny Emerman. The matter is significant because the team has no clarity on whether, or when, it can count on the player.

What is known

Porziņģis did not travel with the team to Hawaii and has not taken part in club activities since. Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy learned of the Latvian's health problems on 27 September. Since then, Porziņģis has missed six practices and four preseason games.

Earlier diagnosis

Porziņģis has previously been diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). However, it is not known whether his current health problems are connected to that condition.

The club's position

Head coach Steve Kerr said earlier that the club would prefer to see Porziņģis with the team, but that he must look after his health. Kerr added that the Warriors will support him and continue working with the team.
