Google basically confirms the Pixel 11 is getting a price hike
Google VP Shakil Barkat told 9to5 Google that the next Pixel phone will cost more due to soaring RAM prices, with the base model expected at $899 with 256GB storage.
Google’s Vice President of Devices and Services, Shakil Barkat, has all but confirmed in an interview with 9to5 Google that the company’s next Pixel phone will be more expensive than the Pixel 10. The price hike is not entirely unexpected, given the ongoing RAM supply issues caused by the explosion of AI data centers. Companies from Apple to Nintendo, Microsoft to Roku, have all raised prices in response to rising memory costs.
Barkat said Google had “shielded our consumers from supply fluctuations for as long as possible,” but that the “economics have fundamentally shifted and we’re not immune to that.” He added that the Pixel lineup will see pricing “adjustments” that “will be rolled out dynamically to match supply realities.”
The base model Pixel 11 is expected to cost $899 and will come with 256GB of storage instead of 128GB. There are also rumors that the Pixel 11 Pro could drop from 16GB to 12GB of RAM. The official announcement is scheduled for August 12th, so we won’t have to wait long for confirmation.
