A mysterious addition

Google will formally unveil this year's Pixel lineup on August 12, but the company has already offered a small teaser. A brief video focuses on the Pixel 11 Pro, specifically its camera bar, which houses three lenses. Next to the sensors, a circular indicator with rotating colors appears, reminiscent of the Mac rainbow pinwheel.

The video title mentions ''the next obvious move,'' but no concrete details have been shared. The colorful indicator could be related to on-device AI processing via Gemini, or perhaps a mixed reality feature, aligning with Google's recent push in that direction. Rumors also suggest Google might adopt color-coded notifications inspired by the Nothing Phone's Glyph interface.

Expected specs and pricing

Leaks indicate the Pixel 11 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch display with a peak brightness of 3,600 nits and run on a Tensor G6 chipset. A retail listing has revealed three color options: pink-beige, forest green, and gray-lavender. Camera upgrades remain unclear.

Due to AI-driven demand for RAM and chips, the Pixel 11 series and Pixel Watch 5 are expected to be more expensive than their predecessors. The unveiling is scheduled in two weeks, where Google will likely clarify the mystery.
