Google Search adds live NFL game tracking features
Google is rolling out a live game feed and improved stats in Search as the NFL regular season begins, along with fantasy football account integration.
As the NFL regular season kicks off, Google has added a new Live Game Feed feature to its search product, allowing users to follow ongoing games in real time.
New features
Mobile users will see a red "Live" icon that opens a game recap, play-by-play updates, top social media commentary, video highlights, and AI-generated insights about the game. The feature is currently available in English, with support for college football and additional languages planned later this month.
Mobile Search also gains a new carousel for browsing scores of other games in progress. Stat displays have been improved as well, now showing league leaders in categories such as passing touchdowns and rushing yards, plus more detailed individual stats covering sacks, fumbles, and yards after catch.
Fantasy football integration
Starting today, users can link their Yahoo Fantasy or Sleeper accounts to Search to receive AI-generated insights that help adjust fantasy lineups, without needing to upload screenshots or manually enter data.
