Google's Nest Thermostat is currently available at its best price of the year: $79 on Amazon, saving $50 off the regular price. The device offers a relatively affordable way to cut down on cooling costs with its smart controls and energy-saving features.

The thermostat is easy to install and can be adjusted remotely via the Google Home app, whether you're at home or on your way back. It supports voice control through Google Assistant, Alexa, or other Matter-compatible assistants. Users can create schedules, and the thermostat automatically lowers the temperature when no one is home to reduce unnecessary energy use.

Google's Savings Finder feature provides personalized tips to save more over time. The Nest Thermostat also monitors your HVAC system and alerts you to potential issues, helping prevent costly repairs. For eligible users, Nest Renew can shift heating and cooling to times when electricity is cleaner or cheaper.

However, this is Google's entry-level model from 2020, so it lacks some premium features found on the Nest Learning Thermostat. It does not automatically learn your schedule or support Nest Temperature Sensors for room-specific control. Still, if you want an easy way to manage your home's temperature remotely and potentially lower energy bills, this deal is worth considering.
