Google One Offers More Than Storage: Perks Many Subscribers Overlook
Google One, which most people buy for extra storage, also includes family sharing, AI features and discounts across other Google services. Many benefits depend on the chosen plan.

Google One is Google's paid subscription, usually chosen by people who need more storage for their Google account. The free 15GB fills up quickly across Gmail, Google Photos and Drive. The subscription also brings other benefits, though what you get depends on your plan. The available perks can be viewed on the Google One page under Benefits.
Plans up to 5TB can be paid annually at a price equal to ten months. Plans from 10TB upward must be paid monthly.
Sharing storage with family
A plan can be shared with a family group of up to six people, created in the Family section of Google account settings. Each member's usage first counts against their own free 15GB before drawing on the shared pool. Members cannot see one another's files unless they share them in the usual way. The storage listed for a plan is the total, not an addition: the 100GB plan gives 100GB overall, not 115GB.
AI features
The two cheapest plans, Basic and Standard, offer little beyond storage. Google AI Plus plans (400GB or 2TB) double Gemini chatbot usage and add access to Flash models. Google AI Pro (5TB or 10TB) raises limits fourfold, adds the Gemini 4 Argon model, a larger context window and Deep Research, which compiles in-depth reports from many sources. The 20TB AI Ultra plan multiplies the Pro limit by five, while the 30TB plan gives 20 times the Pro usage.
Other benefits
Plans of 200GB and 400GB return 3 percent on Google Store purchases as store credit; from 2TB the figure is 10 percent. From 2TB, some business-oriented features also unlock, such as Google Meet calls of up to 24 hours.
AI Pro plans include YouTube Premium Lite, Google Home Premium Standard and Google Health Premium, while AI Ultra includes full YouTube Premium and Google Home Premium Advanced. These subscriptions are for the plan owner only. The VPN and dark web monitoring have been discontinued; the free service Have I Been Pwned can perform a similar check.
