Google TV Streamer now $50 more expensive

Google has raised the price of its 4K Google TV Streamer from $99 to $149, joining a wave of recent price hikes on streaming devices from Amazon and Apple.

Google has increased the price of its 4K streaming device, the Google TV Streamer, by $50 — from its original $99 to a new $149. The updated price is already showing at the Google Store and at Best Buy, though Amazon still appears to be selling the device at the original price.

The increase comes just weeks after Google introduced its Pixel 11 phone lineup at prices $100 higher than the previous Pixel 10 generation.

The Google TV Streamer, which launched in 2024, functions both as a streaming device and a smart home hub.

Part of a wider industry trend

Google's device is not the only streaming product getting pricier. Component shortages have been pushing up costs across consumer electronics, from laptops to game consoles. Earlier this month Amazon raised the price of its Fire TV Stick 4K Max by more than 40 percent, to $84.99. Apple TV 4K prices also climbed following Apple's broad price increases in June, with the 64GB model now costing $199 and the 128GB model $249.
