A notable discount is currently available on the GoPro Max 2 360-degree camera, with the price cut reaching 40 percent, bringing the cost down to $299.

360-degree cameras use two lenses to simultaneously capture everything happening around the user, then stitch the footage together with software. This means no shot is ever missed, but because the device essentially contains two cameras in one, such devices tend to be pricier than standard action cameras.

Specifications and performance

The GoPro Max 2 features two 14mm lenses (35mm equivalent), each recording to a 1/2.3-inch sensor, producing what GoPro calls "True 8K" video. The large sensors deliver sharper, clearer footage compared to other 360 cameras on the market. Advanced users can record 10-bit color in log format for greater flexibility in post-production color grading, while the camera's default color profile is described as one of the most natural-looking available.

The camera shares the same triple mounting system used across the GoPro lineup — folding fingers, a tripod hole, or a magnetic system — allowing it to be mounted almost anywhere. Its lens cover can also be easily replaced if scratched.

As an action camera, the Max 2 includes all standard GoPro video modes, including HyperSmooth stabilization, horizon leveling, and TimeWarp time-lapse video. Its main shortcoming is audio recording quality, which can be improved with an external Bluetooth microphone.

During the sale period, additional discounts are also available on other action cameras and accessories, including wireless microphones and GoPro's flagship action camera model.
