GoPro has launched the Mission 1 series, with the Mission 1 Pro being the top-tier model offering 8K resolution and the largest image sensor ever in an action camera. After several months of testing on bikes, paddleboards, sailboats, and more, the reviewer concludes this is the best action camera you can buy.

The Mission 1 Pro features a 50-megapixel Type 1 sensor (13.2 x 8.8 mm), significantly larger than previous generations. It can capture 8K video at 60fps, 4K at 240fps, and 1080p at an astonishing 960fps, though the latter is limited to 10-second bursts. Notably, there is no 5.3K option like the Hero 13 Black; instead, it offers 8K, 4K, 1080p, and 1440p.
Improvements
The new GP3 processor enables better low-light performance and a new GP-Log2 format for more cinematic footage. Fast charging reaches 80% in about 20 minutes and full charge in just over 30 minutes. Battery life is around 3 hours when shooting 4K at 24fps. The camera is compatible with Hero 13 mounts and batteries.
Drawbacks
