Latvia has enough pellets, but high demand is pushing up prices

Industry representatives say the issue is not a physical shortage of pellets — supply in Latvia remains sufficient. Instead, they point to unusually high demand as the main driver behind rising prices. This surge in demand is putting pressure on prices even before the season officially starts, prompting some residents to buy their heating fuel early in order to avoid even higher costs later.
The situation suggests that Latvia's pellet market is currently sensitive to shifts in demand, and consumers planning to heat with pellets may face both local supply constraints and higher costs compared with previous years.
