Grava wins 200m in Sweden; Lasmane and Medveds compete in Finland
Latvian sprinter Grava won the 200m race in Sweden, while Rūta Kate Lasmane and Artūrs Niklāvs Medveds competed in events in Finland.

Latvian athlete Grava secured victory in the 200-meter sprint at a competition in Sweden on Sunday, clocking 20.78 seconds. Earlier, he also ran the 100 meters, finishing fifth in his heat in 10.65 seconds. The event was won by local runner Henrik Lāšons (10.43 seconds).
At the “Grand Prix Joensuu” meet in Joensuu, Finland, triple jumper Rūta Kate Lasmane placed fourth with a best leap of 13.44 meters on her first attempt. Her subsequent jumps were 13.32 meters (second), 13.10 meters (fifth), and 13.35 meters (sixth), with two jumps invalid. The victory went to Greece’s Oksana Koreņeva (13.80 meters).
Artūrs Niklāvs Medveds achieved his second-best time in the 3000 meters, running 7 minutes and 54.04 seconds to finish sixth among 19 competitors. His only faster time came indoors in Seattle in winter 2025, when he set the Latvian record (7:49.48). The race was won by Kenya’s Daniel Munguti (7:49.04).
