Transfer Details

Fenerbahce and Marseille have agreed on a transfer fee of €39 million plus €6 million in bonuses. However, Marseille will not keep the entire sum, as per conditions from the previous transfer. 40% of the total fee, or €15.6 million, goes to Manchester United, but 20% of that will be passed to Getafe. Consequently, Marseille receives €23.4 million, Manchester United €12.48 million, and Getafe €3.12 million.

Greenwood's Career Path

Greenwood came through Manchester United's academy and played 83 Premier League matches for the first team, scoring 22 goals and providing 4 assists. In 2023, he was loaned to Getafe in Spain, where he scored 8 goals and 6 assists in 33 appearances. In 2024, Marseille bought him for around €30 million, and in Ligue 1 he recorded 37 goals and 12 assists in 66 games.

Off-field Issues

In 2022, Greenwood was arrested and charged with assaulting his girlfriend and later with attempted rape. However, in February 2023, all charges were dropped after the witness changed her mind and new evidence emerged. He has one cap for the England national team.
