Grobiņa edges past Daugavpils 1-0 in Latvian top-flight round 28
Grobiņa secured a narrow 1-0 home win over Daugavpils in round 28 of the Latvian football top division. The only goal came from Milan Corrin in the second half.
On Saturday, in round 28 of the "Tonybet" Latvian football top division, home side Grobiņa defeated Daugavpils 1-0 (0-0) in a match played in Liepāja.
The first half ended goalless. The breakthrough came in the 75th minute, when, following a throw-in, Artjoms Puzirevskis fought off a defender to set up Milan Corrin inside the penalty area, and the Belgian striker converted the chance cleanly. Corrin later found the net again, but the goal was disallowed for offside, leaving the scoreline unchanged until the final whistle.

On the same day, third-placed Auda hosted Super Nova, while Jelgava travelled to face Tukums 2000.
League standings
Following this round, RFS leads the standings with 66 points from 26 matches, one point ahead of Riga. Auda sits third with 52 points from 26 games, followed by Daugavpils on 37 points from 28 matches. Liepāja, level on points but having played one fewer match, occupies fifth place. Jelgava and Super Nova share sixth and seventh with 28 points apiece. With this win, Grobiņa moves into eighth place with 24 points from 28 matches, ahead of Tukums 2000 on 20 points, while Ogre United sits bottom of the table with 14 points from 26 games.
The 2026 championship is being played over four rounds of fixtures, totalling 36 matchdays and 180 games. The final round of the season is scheduled for November 8. Riga were champions of the previous season.
