The band Stūrī zēvele has released a new album titled «arLabunakti», which has been nominated for the Austra Award. The group is known for taking its time with everything it creates — an approach reflected both in how the music was made and in the material used on the record.
A long time in the making
The recording process unfolded gradually and took almost five years to complete. The poetry chosen for the album had also sat in the band's archive for years before being incorporated into the songs. Similarly, the painting that became the album's cover artwork waited a long time for its moment — it had been set aside for several years until the band found the right album for it.
A cozy, autumnal feel
The album «arLabunakti» is described as evoking the feeling of a cozy autumn evening. It reflects Stūrī zēvele's characteristic approach of creating music without rushing, letting ideas mature over an extended period before being brought together into a finished work.
The album has been nominated for the Austra Award, one of the recognitions given within Latvia's music industry.
