Georgia suffered another massive power outage on July 25 at approximately 8 a.m. local time, hitting the capital Tbilisi as well as Batumi, Kutaisi, and other cities. This marks the second major blackout within two days, according to reports by Newsgeorgia and Paper Kartuli.

In Tbilisi, metro operations were temporarily suspended, and there were disruptions to train services and water supply. Electricity was restored in some districts of the capital about half an hour after the failure. The previous large-scale blackout had occurred the day before.

The Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE) announced that while working to eliminate the consequences, it is also investigating the causes of the outage.
