GTA VI finally gets a price tag: $79.99 for standard edition
Grand Theft Auto VI will cost $79.99 for the standard edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate edition. Preorders start at midnight local time.

After a long wait, the price for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI has finally been revealed. The standard edition will retail for $79.99, while the Ultimate edition will cost $99.99. This places the game among the higher-priced titles currently available.
Preorders are set to begin at midnight local time, with the game available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The announcement comes after months of speculation about the price, as the video game industry has seen a steady increase in prices over the past year. For instance, Nintendo has raised prices for some Switch 2 games to $69 or even $79.
GTA VI will launch over a decade after GTA V, and its release date has been delayed multiple times. It is expected to be the biggest game of the year, prompting other publishers to schedule their releases to avoid direct competition.
Rockstar Games has been gradually revealing details about GTA VI over the past year. Recently, the official cover art was unveiled, and the first trailers introduced the game's protagonists, Jason and Lucia, along with snippets of the main story set in the fictional city of Vice City.
