Latvian sprinter Gunta Vaičule, the national record holder and a two-time Olympian, has announced that she will conclude her professional career this week. She revealed this to the newspaper "Diena".

Throughout her career, Vaičule achieved notable success, including setting the Latvian record in sprinting. She represented Latvia at two Olympic Games, becoming one of the most recognizable athletics figures in the country.

The upcoming competitions this week will be her last, after which she will officially retire from sports. The exact location and time of the events have not been disclosed.
