Guntis Valneris becomes world champion in rapid 100-square checkers for second straight year
Latvian grandmaster Guntis Valneris won the world rapid championship in 100-square checkers for the second consecutive time at the tournament held in Riga.

The World Rapid Championship in 100-square checkers concluded on Wednesday in Riga at the Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel. More than 100 top-level players from ten countries competed in the event.
Latvian international grandmaster Guntis Valneris claimed the title for the second year in a row, repeating his achievement from last year. This victory underscores his continued excellence in the rapid discipline of the game.
