Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly planning dinner honoring Sam Altman
Actress and investor Gwyneth Paltrow is said to be sending invitations for a private dinner celebrating OpenAI's Sam Altman at her Hamptons home on August 29. Paltrow's firm Kinship Ventures is itself a backer of OpenAI.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow, founder of wellness brand Goop, is reportedly organizing a private, off-the-record dinner in honor of OpenAI chief Sam Altman, according to a report by Puck cited by TechCrunch. The event is set for August 29 at Paltrow's home in the Hamptons, where Altman is said to be traveling specifically for the occasion.
Beyond acting and entrepreneurship, Paltrow is also an active investor. Since 2021, she has co-run the venture firm Kinship Ventures alongside Moj Mahdara. Reports from 2023 indicated the fund was seeking to raise $75 million, though it remains unclear whether that round has closed.
SEC filings show Kinship Ventures' investment in OpenAI dates back to 2023. The firm has also backed other AI-related companies, including vibe-coding tool Lovable and AI-driven marketing platform Nectar Social.
In recent years, Paltrow has become increasingly vocal about artificial intelligence, describing how she uses AI tools to help run her company. Her Goop Kitchen brand has also signed a lease for space on the ground floor of rival AI company Anthropic's San Francisco headquarters.
Separately, OpenAI earlier this year hired Charles Porch, described by Vanity Fair as a "celebrity whisperer," apparently reflecting the company's growing engagement with high-profile figures.
TechCrunch said it had reached out to both Goop and OpenAI for comment but had not yet received responses.
