Haas: Ocon Will Not Race Again This Season, Camara Makes Debut
Formula 1 team Haas has confirmed that French driver Esteban Ocon will not race for it again this season. Formula 2 championship leader Rafael Camara of Brazil will make his F1 debut at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.

Formula 1 team Haas has confirmed that French driver Esteban Ocon will not race for it again this season. Rafael Camara, a Brazilian who leads the Formula 2 championship (the main feeder series below F1), will make his F1 debut at this weekend's Sao Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil.
Camara had already been announced as Ocon's replacement from the start of 2027, so he will reach F1 earlier than planned. Last month Haas announced that Ocon would leave at the end of this season, after two years with the American-owned squad.
Row in Mexico
Ocon is understood to have fallen out with the team during last weekend's race in Mexico. He was replaced from Saturday onwards by Japanese driver Ryo Hirakawa. On his F1 debut, Hirakawa finished 10th at the Mexico City Grand Prix and scored a point, after post-race penalties were handed to McLaren's Oscar Piastri and to the Alpine pair of Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto.
Hirakawa will not race in Sao Paulo because he is competing in the World Endurance Championship this weekend in Italy.
What comes next
Haas has not yet confirmed who will drive in the three remaining scheduled races, in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The Sao Paulo event is the last leg of a triple header, three races in consecutive weekends. Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday, 7 November, with the Grand Prix on Sunday, 8 November.
