The hacker behind the cyberattack on Latvijas valsts meži (LVM) has also compromised a server of pharmaceutical company Olpha, according to Cert.lv.

Cyberattack extends to pharmaceutical sector
According to information provided by Cert.lv, the hacker who carried out a cyberattack on the state-owned enterprise Latvijas valsts meži (LVM) has also compromised a server of the pharmaceutical company Olpha. This news came after LVM acknowledged that data was stolen in the attack.
It is not yet known what type of data from Olpha's server may have been compromised, but pharmaceutical companies store sensitive information, including patient data and prescription information. Cert.lv urges companies to strengthen security measures and monitor the situation.
This incident highlights growing cyber threats in Latvia, as the attacker deliberately targeted both public and private sector organizations. Experts warn that such attacks may become more frequent and are difficult to prevent without proper preparedness.
An investigation is currently underway, and Cert.lv continues to analyze the extent of the attack. Olpha has not yet issued an official comment on the incident.
