Hull Stun Manchester United With Impressive Home Win
Hull City secured a surprise victory over Manchester United, with debutants shining and defender Semi Ajayi scoring his first Premier League goal since 2021.

Hull City produced a shock result against Manchester United, with the home side well organised at both ends of the pitch.
Goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis stood out on his debut, delivering a strong performance that included a crucial one-handed save. Defender Semi Ajayi opened the scoring for Hull by converting a rebound, marking his first Premier League goal since 2021 when he played for West Bromwich Albion. Debutant Nobel Mendy added a second goal after Regan Slater's precise free-kick delivery.
Hull's midfield, led by Matt Crooks and Mohamed Belloumi, dominated the centre of the pitch and helped the team build attacking momentum. Forward Oli McBurnie, despite not scoring himself, posed a constant threat that created space for his team-mates.
Manchester United struggled throughout the match, with several players, including newcomers Ayden Heaven and Andrey Santos, appearing inexperienced and outplayed. Goalkeeper Senne Lammens made a number of good saves but could not prevent the defeat. Harry Maguire, returning to his former club, put in a solid display but failed to inspire those around him.
United made several second-half substitutions, including bringing on Marcus Rashford for his first appearance since December 2024, but were unable to change the course of the match.
