Haralds Simanis – the Unforgettable Voice of a Bard

June marks what would have been the 75th birthday of legendary Latvian bard Haralds Simanis. His colleague, singer, composer and music educator Arnis Miltiņš shared memories of Simanis. Miltiņš notes that they never performed on the same stage nor had many conversations. However, when in Simanis' presence, Miltiņš chose to be silent and listen, enjoying the energy of being together. He later reproached himself for not engaging in conversation, but at the moment simply savored the shared experience. Simanis is remembered as a unique artist who lived with full dedication.
