Earlier this week, a new observation tower was inaugurated in Meriküla, Harku Municipality, connecting the clifftop with the coastal area. Harku Municipality Mayor Erik Sandla stated that the structure is an important step in improving the local living environment and the connection between Muraste and Meriküla.

"It creates a safe and convenient link for people living below and above the cliff. It is a vital route for the community, supporting both mobility habits and the development of the municipality as a unified spatial whole," Sandla said. He added that it also enhances opportunities for residents to move around their neighborhood, meet each other, and function as a community. Children will use it on their way to and from school.

The tower's viewing platform is 22 meters high from the base and over 50 meters above sea level, and it is equipped with an elevator. The project was designed by architect Oliver Alver and constructed by AS Rand ja Tuulberg. The cost amounted to €1.3 million plus VAT.
