Hearts finalize deal for Forest Green captain Mendy

Hearts have agreed a transfer for Laurent Mendy, the Forest Green Rovers captain, making him their 10th signing this summer. The 29-year-old midfielder is expected to join ahead of their Champions League qualifier.

Hearts have reached an agreement to acquire Laurent Mendy from Forest Green Rovers. The 29-year-old midfielder, who captains the English National League side, has been a target for the Scottish club over the past two transfer windows. Their initial bid in January was rejected, but a deal has now been finalized.

Mendy joined Forest Green in 2025 from Macclesfield. Last season, he featured in 47 matches for the National League outfit. He is set to become Hearts' tenth addition of the summer transfer window.

Negotiations over personal terms are ongoing. Hearts are preparing for the first leg of their Champions League second-round qualifier against Sturm Graz, scheduled for Tuesday at 19:30 BST.
