Heatbit unveils Bitwater, a water heater element that mines Bitcoin while heating

The company Heatbit has developed Bitwater, a device that replaces the heating element of an electric water heater while also mining the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. It is designed to be installed by users themselves.

The company Heatbit has unveiled a new device called Bitwater. It is intended for standard electric water heaters with a tank, commonly known as boilers. The device combines two functions: like an ordinary heating element it heats water for household use, while continuously mining the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. Mining means performing computer calculations that process transactions on the cryptocurrency network.

Installation

The device is designed to be easy to install without professional help. Bitwater is meant as a direct replacement for the heating element already inside a boiler, so, according to the company's description, the whole water heater does not need to be replaced.

The available fragment of the source does not state the device's price, technical specifications, expected mining income or the date it will go on sale.
