Choreographer Lita Beiris: In Ballet and in Life, Keep Your Centre and Your Goal
Choreographer and ballet dancer Lita Beiris spoke on Latvian Radio about her path in dance and the ballet festival running on several Latvian stages from 15 October to 25 November. The festival will host international artists, including dancers from Ukraine.

Choreographer and ballet dancer Lita Beiris believes it is very important in ballet to feel your centre and not lose sight of your goal, and she says the same applies to life. She shared her views on the Latvian Radio programme "Laikmeta krustpunktā" ("At the Crossroads of the Era"), where she spoke about her path in the arts.
A conversation about her personal path
During the programme, Beiris touched on several subjects: the fulfilment of her mother's dream, the pointe shoes made by her father, and the many stage partners she has danced with. The title of the interview also quotes her as saying she was born feet first and was told she would never dance.
The ballet festival
She also talked about how the ballet festival came into being. This year it runs from 15 October to 25 November on various stages across Latvia. The festival will bring together international dance artists, among them dancers from Ukraine. Because of the war, their successful journey to Latvia is not yet guaranteed.
The programme is available from Latvian Radio, and its content was also reported by LSM Culture.
