Hull KR overcome Leigh Leopards

Hull KR earned a deserved 22-8 win against Leigh Leopards in the Betfred Super League. The home side took the lead in the first half through Joe Burgess' 17th try of the season and Peta Hiku's score, before Jacob Alick-Wiencke replied for Leigh to make it 10-4 at halftime.

Early in the second half, Burgess left the field with a suspected shoulder injury. However, Hull KR extended their advantage with tries from Jai Whitbread and Bill Leyland, rendering Bailey Hodgson's late effort a mere consolation.

The victory moved Willie Peters' team to within two points of second-placed Warrington. Leigh, who had won their previous three matches since losing to Rovers last month, remain seventh in the standings.
