Hull KR end losing streak with derby victory over Hull FC

Hull KR bounce back

Hull KR, who had been struggling recently, secured a vital 28-20 win over local rivals Hull FC on Thursday night. This was their ninth consecutive victory in the derby, a remarkable run under coach Willie Peters in his last derby game in charge.

Fast start for Hull FC

The hosts started brightly, racing to a 12-0 lead within the first ten minutes through tries from Joe Batchelor and Davy Litten. However, Hull KR responded with tries from Tom Amone and Arthur Mourgue to level the scores at 12-12 by halftime.

Second-half turnaround

Jack Broadbent's try put Hull KR ahead for the first time, and Joe Burgess then intercepted a pass and ran 95 metres to extend the lead to 22-12. Jake Arthur gave Hull FC hope with a try following a clever kick from Zak Hardaker, but Jordan Dezaria powered over to seal the win for the Robins.

Table implications

The victory moved Hull KR back into the play-off positions in fifth place. For Hull FC, who sit second from bottom, it was a sixth straight defeat, continuing a miserable season. They have won only one of their last 11 games.
