Hull's record-equalling 62 puts her within a shot of leader Huang

Charley Hull produced a stunning bogey-free round of 62 on day two of the PIF London Championship at the Centurion Club, matching the lowest round ever recorded on the Ladies European Tour and breaking the course record previously held by fellow Englishwoman Georgia Hall since 2021.

The 11-under-par effort lifted the 30-year-old into a tie for the tour's all-time best single round, joining Haeran Ryu, Jessica Korda, Alison Lee and Karrie Webb. Hull's total of 10-under-par now places her second overall, just one shot behind 17-year-old Canadian Anna Huang.

Having opened the tournament with a 74, Hull turned things around dramatically on Friday, making an eagle at the first hole before adding nine birdies during her round.

Speaking afterwards, Hull said she had felt exhausted heading into the round, still recovering from a demanding stretch that included last week's AIG Women's Open, and mentioned she has been managing several ongoing injuries with regular physiotherapy. She admitted surprise at shooting 11 under given how tired she felt that morning, describing it as one of the easiest low rounds of her career, while suggesting she may still have left a few shots out on the course.

It capped an eventful week for Hull, who also addressed comments after a prank involving her caddie and finished tied sixth at The Open following a push for the title on the final day.

Wales' Lydia Hall sits third at eight under par after a round of 67. Leader Huang, who followed her opening 67 with a 68 on Friday, said her second round involved a few more errors than the first but that she remained pleased with her position at the top of the leaderboard.
