Hyundai prepares new Tucson generation for Paris debut
Hyundai will unveil the new-generation Tucson at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, with the SUV growing in size and gaining updated features. The model will be offered with petrol, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

Hyundai is preparing to present the new generation of its Tucson model at the Paris Motor Show, which opens its doors on October 12. The automaker notes that last year's Tucson was the best-selling compact SUV in Europe's private buyer market.
Bigger dimensions
The new model keeps Hyundai's current design language but has grown in size, now measuring 4.56 meters in length, 1.90 meters in width and 1.67 meters in height. The wheelbase has also been extended to 2.72 meters, while ground clearance stands at 169 mm. Trunk capacity reaches 695 liters, and the rear seat, split in a 40:20:40 ratio, can slide by 150 mm to flexibly adjust space between passengers and cargo.
Interior and technology
Inside, the cabin features a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a central infotainment screen of up to 17 inches, though key functions remain controllable via physical buttons. Voice control is powered by artificial intelligence. Depending on the trim, comfort features may include driver's seat massage function, enhanced climate control, wireless phone charging and USB-C ports delivering up to 100 W of charging power, as well as a heated windshield with rapid defrosting.
The vehicle comes equipped with a wide range of driver assistance systems, including remote parking and systems that ease reverse driving, including with a trailer attached. All-wheel-drive versions also get a surround-view monitor for navigating difficult maneuvers. Depending on the engine, the Tucson can tow trailers weighing up to 1.91 tonnes.
Engines and lighting
The engine lineup includes a 1.6-liter petrol unit producing 150 hp, a hybrid version with 245 hp, and a plug-in hybrid with 292 hp, with the latter two delivering 380 Nm of torque. The plug-in hybrid features a 17.1 kWh battery providing up to 81 kilometers of electric-only range, with a built-in charger rated at 7.2 kW. Wheel sizes range from 17 to 20 inches depending on configuration. New lighting elements include H-Edge units at the front and three-dimensional Prism LED taillights at the rear, using 25,600 individually controlled LED pixels.
