Far-Right Figure Milo Yiannopoulos Detained by ICE in Louisiana
British national Milo Yiannopoulos has been detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Louisiana, according to agency records. ICE and the Department of Homeland Security have not commented on the matter or on any deportation plans.
Milo Yiannopoulos, a British citizen known for more than a decade of shifting roles within far-right American politics, has been detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to ICE's own records. It is unclear which facility currently holds him, but the agency's directory directs family members and legal representatives to the Enforcement and Removal Office in Alexandria, Louisiana, a processing center roughly 200 miles from New Orleans.
Neither ICE nor the Department of Homeland Security has commented on the detention or indicated whether deportation is planned. TMZ was first to report the news. Yiannopoulos has previously lived and worked in the US, reportedly under an O-1 visa granted to individuals with extraordinary abilities in fields such as arts, sciences, and journalism, but he has never held US citizenship.
A career of reinvention
Yiannopoulos began his US political career at Breitbart, where he worked from 2014 to 2017, leaving after backlash over remarks suggesting sexual relationships between adults and young adolescent boys could be consensual. He has since moved in and out of right-wing circles, claiming in 2022 to have arranged a widely criticized dinner bringing together Kanye West, white nationalist Nick Fuentes, and Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
He married his longtime boyfriend in Hawaii in 2017, then announced in 2021 that he had become heterosexual and Catholic, along with plans to open a gay conversion therapy center in Florida. He has since worked alongside Fuentes and former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, and continues to serve as a spokesman for Kanye West, who is set to perform at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans this Friday as part of his 2026 tour.
Yiannopoulos's longtime rival, conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer, publicly claimed credit on X for first reporting his unauthorized status in the country. Last summer, Yiannopoulos himself voiced strong support for mass deportations in a post on his own X account, calling for the removal of millions of people from the US.
