Wages in Ida-Viru County rise 8.4% to reach 1,852 euros
The average gross salary in Estonia's Ida-Viru County reached 1,852 euros in the second quarter, up 8.4% year on year, though it remains well below the national average.

According to Statistics Estonia, the average gross monthly wage in Ida-Viru County stood at 1,852 euros in the second quarter of this year, marking an 8.4% (144-euro) increase compared with the same period last year. This growth significantly outpaced the national average.
Across Estonia as a whole, the average gross wage in the second quarter was 2,243 euros, up 5.5% year on year. That leaves Ida-Viru County's average wage 391 euros, or roughly 17%, below the national figure.
Differences between municipalities
Within the county, the highest average wage was recorded in Alutaguse, at 2,301 euros, followed by Narva-Jõesuu at 2,292 euros. Jõhvi's average wage reached 1,799 euros, Kohtla-Järve's 1,873 euros, Sillamäe's 1,850 euros, and Narva's 1,723 euros.
The fastest annual wage growth occurred in Narva-Jõesuu, at 25.7%. Sillamäe saw wages rise 9.2%, Narva 8.4%, Kohtla-Järve 5.2%, and Lüganuse 6%.
Median wage and workforce
The median wage in Ida-Viru County in the second quarter was 1,500 euros, meaning half of employees earned less than that amount and half earned more. The median wage rose by 123 euros over the year.
The county had 38,587 employees during the second quarter.
