Drunk Cyclist Stopped in Iecava

State Police stopped a cyclist in Iecava whose breath alcohol concentration was 1.53 per mille. An administrative proceeding has been initiated.

On Monday, July 20, at approximately 3:30 PM, police officers in Iecava noticed a male cyclist whose riding raised suspicions. Upon stopping the man, born in 1975, a breathalyzer test revealed an alcohol concentration of 1.53 per mille. An administrative process has been launched for driving under the influence, as confirmed by State Police representative Rūta Strautniece-Apaļā. The incident highlights the importance of road safety compliance for cyclists as well.
