Iecava craftswoman shapes candles into fruits and vegetables year-round

In the Latvian town of Iecava, craftswoman Monta Maklere creates an unusual candle collection called "MINI sveces" (MINI candles). The candles are shaped and detailed to resemble various fruits and vegetables, including avocado, figs and carrots.

Unlike real produce, which ripens according to the seasons, Maklere's "harvest" is available all year round. The candles are crafted with such realistic detail that they could easily be mistaken for actual fruits or vegetables at first glance.

However, their purpose is entirely different from real produce — these items are meant to be admired rather than consumed. They serve as decorative pieces that let people enjoy the visual appeal of fruits and vegetables without any calories involved.

The collection includes multiple shapes and varieties mimicking real natural products, though each piece is made of wax rather than organic material.
