Estonia launches 100 MW battery park Hertz 2

In Aruküla, Harju County, Estonia, the battery energy storage system Hertz 2 with 100 MW capacity and 200 MWh storage has been officially opened. Together with Hertz 1 opened in February in Kiisa, it forms one of the most powerful complexes of its kind in continental Europe, helping to stabilize the Baltic electricity grid.

Estonia has officially opened the Hertz 2 battery energy storage system in Aruküla, Harju County. The facility has a power capacity of 100 megawatts (MW) and an energy storage capacity of 200 megawatt-hours (MWh). It complements the Hertz 1 system, which was launched in February in Kiisa. Together, the two units constitute one of the most powerful battery storage complexes in continental Europe. The system is designed to support the stability of the Baltic states' electricity grid, particularly as they integrate more renewable energy sources.
