EKRE slips to fifth place in Estonian party ratings
A new survey shows Isamaa still leads Estonia's party ratings, while EKRE has lost support over the past month and dropped to fifth place.
The latest weekly survey by Norstat, commissioned by the Institute for Social Studies, shows Isamaa remaining Estonia's most popular party, while EKRE has slipped to fifth place after losing support over the past month.
Isamaa's support now stands at 25.7%, up 0.1 percentage points from the previous week. The Centre Party ranks second, with support edging up slightly from 22.2% to 22.3%. The Social Democrats are third with 14.4%, down 0.4 percentage points over the week.
Fourth and fifth place are closely contested between the Reform Party (13%) and EKRE (12.7%). EKRE's rating has fallen by 1.9 percentage points over the past four weeks.
The Parempoolsed (Right-Wingers) party, which is not represented in the Riigikogu, also cleared the five-percent threshold with 6.4% support. Support for Eesti 200, part of the governing coalition, has remained below two percent for a prolonged period.
Combined support for the coalition parties — Reform and Eesti 200 — stands at 14.6%, while opposition parliamentary parties are backed by 75.1% of respondents. Although Reform and Eesti 200 have long held 52 of the Riigikogu's 101 seats to the opposition's 49, both ruling parties recently lost a lawmaker each after they announced their departure from their parties and factions, causing the coalition to lose its formal parliamentary majority.
The next Riigikogu elections are scheduled for spring 2027. The survey data are based on aggregated results of weekly polls conducted between 27 July and 23 August, covering a total of about 4,000 eligible Estonian voters.
