Estonian men's ice hockey championship opens with games in Kohtla-Järve and Tartu
The Estonian men's ice hockey championship kicked off on October 3 with opening matches in Kohtla-Järve and Tartu. Five teams are competing this season, the same number as last year.

Estonia's men's ice hockey championship began on October 3, with opening-round matches played in Tartu and Kohtla-Järve.
In Tartu, the home side Välk lost a close contest to Kohtla-Järve's Everest, 4:5.
In Kohtla-Järve, reigning champions Viru-Sputnik struggled to a 2:1 win over Narva's PSK. The visitors opened the scoring near the end of the 9th minute through Georgi Vasilyev, but the home team fought back thanks to a double from Maksim Chaltsev, securing the victory.
As in the previous season, five teams are taking part in this year's national championship: two from Kohtla-Järve, and one each from Narva, Tartu and Tallinn.
