Estonia is home to more than 4,000 Latvians
Data from Statistics Estonia shows that more than 4,000 Latvians were living in the country at the start of this year, while Estonia's total population exceeded 1.36 million.

Statistics Estonia has released updated population data reflecting the composition of the country's residents at the beginning of this year. According to the figures, Estonia had a total population of 1,360,745 people.
Ethnic Estonians make up the majority of the population, numbering 932,603, or 68.5% of all residents. The remainder of the population consists of representatives of other ethnicities, and the statistics show that Estonia is home to people of 224 different nationalities in total, reflecting the country's ethnic diversity.
Latvian community in Estonia
The data also reveals that among these 224 nationalities are Latvians — more than 4,000 of them currently live in Estonia. This points to a long-standing and stable Latvian community in the neighboring country, which maintains close historical, economic and geographic ties with Latvia.
