Estonian football: Vaprus edges Kuressaare with a narrow 1-0 win

In the 17th round of Estonia's Premium Liiga, Pärnu Vaprus defeated Kuressaare 1-0 at home. The only goal came from a penalty by Tristan Pajo.

On Friday, June 26, the 17th round of the Estonian football championship came to a close. In Pärnu, local side Vaprus secured a 1-0 victory over Kuressaare. The decisive moment came in the 4th minute when Tristan Pajo converted a penalty kick.

The match drew an attendance of 1,786 spectators, a solid turnout for the Premium Liiga. With this result, Vaprus climbed to 23 points and sixth place in the standings, while Kuressaare remains ninth with 17 points.

Other results from the round: Tammeka beat Narva Trans 1-0, Levadia drew 1-1 with Nõmme Kalju, Harju lost 1-3 to Nõmme United, and Flora fell 1-2 to Paide.

Following the 17th round, the table reads: Levadia 43 points, Flora and Kalju 30 each, Paide 28, Tammeka and Vaprus 23 each, United and Harju 19 each, Kuressaare 17, and Trans 10. Flora and Tammeka have a game in hand.

On Sunday, June 28, two postponed matches from the 19th round will be played: Nõmme Kalju vs Paide and Levadia vs Flora.
