Estonian football: Kalju beats Trans, Levadia thrash Vaprus

In round 28 of the Estonian Premium League, Nomme Kalju defeated Trans while league leaders Levadia routed Vaprus. Levadia remain the sole leader of the standings.

Two matches of round 28 of the Estonian football Premium League were played on Saturday, September 12.

At the Hiiu stadium, Tallinn's Nomme Kalju defeated Narva's Trans 2:0, snapping a five-match losing streak. Mattias Mannilaan put the hosts ahead in the 12th minute, and substitute Ibrahim Jabir sealed the result in stoppage time of the second half.

Meanwhile, at A. Le Coq Arena, Tallinn's Levadia crushed Parnu's Vaprus 4:0. Wendell scored twice for the winners, while Josep Saliste and Mark Oliver Roosnupp each added one goal.

With 68 points, Levadia remain the sole leader of the table. Nomme Kalju, now on 47 points, moved up to third place, though fourth-placed Paide (45 points) has two games in hand. Vaprus sit sixth with 34 points, while Trans (18) remain at the bottom of the standings.
