Ukrainian drones reportedly breached Estonian airspace, no damage reported

Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur said that on the morning of September 1, several drones — likely of Ukrainian origin — had entered Estonian airspace a few hours earlier. The information was reported by the outlet "Європейська правда", citing the minister's statement.

According to Pevkur, Estonia was prepared for such a scenario, and NATO aircraft monitored the situation. The minister stressed that no harm was done to either the Estonian population or the country's territory.

Commenting on the incident, Pevkur reiterated the importance of continuing to support Ukraine, including by supplying it with air defence capabilities.

Overnight incident near the border

As previously reported, on the night before September 1, around ten unmanned aerial vehicles were spotted near the Russian-Estonian border, some of which crossed into Estonian territory. Estonia's defence forces issued warnings about a possible air threat.

An alert was also declared in Latvia. Finland, meanwhile, temporarily restricted air and sea traffic over part of the Gulf of Finland.
