Estonian Rescue Department warns of approaching storm
Strong thunderstorms with hail and wind gusts up to 20-25 m/s are expected across Estonia on Saturday afternoon. Residents are urged to prepare.

The Estonian Rescue Department, based on the forecast from the Environment Agency, announced that strong thunderstorms are expected across Estonia in the second half of Saturday. They will be accompanied by strong wind gusts, and in some places large hail. Wind gusts may exceed 20-25 m/s during the storms. The bad weather will affect the entire country. Thunderclouds will move from east to west and northwest after noon. Counties with the most dangerous conditions are marked with an orange warning (level 2). By the beginning of the night, the intensity of rain and thunderstorms will decrease. Extreme weather conditions and strong wind gusts can break trees, damage power lines, and create dangerous situations on the roads. To minimize the inconvenience caused by the storm, the Rescue Department recommends that residents prepare. "The weather is unpredictable, but a few simple preparations, such as a charged phone, a supply of drinking water, and securing loose items from the yard, can help reduce potential damage and ensure safety for you and your loved ones," emphasized Erkki Põld, responsible official of the Rescue Department.
