Estonian Interior Minister Igor Taro concluded a two-day visit to Latvia, during which he reviewed the country's crisis preparedness, migration policy, and the situation at its external border. He assured that Estonia would provide support to Latvia in fighting illegal migration.

Taro emphasized that Latvia is one of Estonia's most important security partners. He noted that cooperation between their law enforcement agencies is practical, effective, and based on mutual trust and common goals.

On Tuesday, officials inspected the border situation at the Latvia-Belarus border. According to Taro, the situation for Latvia is significantly more tense compared to Estonia. He stated that Latvia's experience in countering malicious attacks is invaluable and that Estonian police periodically learn from it by sending personnel to assist in countering particularly serious hostile initiatives. Taro confirmed that this cooperation will continue.
