Attendance and Revenue Growth

Estonian cinemas welcomed 1,259,717 visitors in the first half of 2026, a 0.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Box office revenue rose by 6.7% to €9.5 million, approximately €597,000 more than the previous year.

The average ticket price increased from €7.11 to €7.54 year-over-year. A total of 274 films were screened during the period, 17 more than a year earlier. The number of new film releases remained nearly unchanged: 148 in 2026 versus 149 in 2025.

Success of Estonian Films

The share of Estonian films in total box office revenue grew from 20% to 22.13%, despite only 14 new Estonian films being released (compared to 22 in 2025). This indicates that Estonian films attracted more viewers per release.
